Dead reckoning is a navigational technique traditionally associated with charting the course for a ship at sea without the use of sophisticated instruments. However, former Army guys Keith Dow and Tyler Carroll realized that, in a metaphorical sense, dead reckoning wayfinding can be useful for soldiers who face the challenges of transitioning from military life to the civilian world. The pair founded the Dead Reckoning Collective, a media company that encourages veterans to harness the writer and poet inside, and provides an outlet for publishing these creative works. In this interview, Dow and Carroll talk about the origins of DRC and highlight a few of their recent projects.
