From Merriam-Webster:
Cave Canem
Latin phrase
Translation: “beware the dog”
Of Sheep, Wolves and Sheepdogs …
Condensed and paraphrased from an essay by Lieutenant Colonel Dave Grossman
Most people in our society are kind, gentle and decent – incapable of hurting each other, except by accident or under extreme provocation. They are the sheep.
Then there are the wolves which feed upon the sheep without mercy. Like the wolves, there are evil men in this world, capable of evil deeds. The moment you forget this fact or pretend it is not so, you become a sheep. There is no safety in denial.
Then there are sheepdogs – those who protect the flock and confront the wolf.
Connecting the Dots
Cave Canem Media supports our veterans – both the human and K9 kind. We write stories about their challenges and successes, as well as the sacrifices made by their families. They are the ultimate sheepdogs who have stepped up to protect our freedom.
We are also passionate about the Second Amendment and the firearms industry that allows Americans to embrace it.
To the wolves out there – foreign and domestic – who threaten the flock: cave canem – beware the dog.
