Dead reckoning is a navigational technique traditionally associated with charting the course for a ship at sea without the use of sophisticated instruments. However, former Army guys Keith Dow and Tyler Carroll realized that, in a metaphorical sense, dead reckoning wayfinding can be useful for soldiers who face the challenges of transitioning from military life to the civilian world. The pair founded the Dead Reckoning Collective, a media company that encourages veterans to harness the writer and poet inside, and provides an outlet for publishing these creative works.
